Friday night offers world-class klezmer music when the Danish band Mames Babegenush return to WAVES Festival and the stage at STARS. The orchestra has played all over the world, from Carnegie Hall to Roskilde Festival – as Mames Babegenush is a unique live experience that unfolds an exciting and dynamic universe. It is the east that meets the north. Strong Scandinavian roots intertwined with exuberant wedding tones from Eastern Europe give Mames Babegenush’s music an atmosphere of both melancholy and ecstatic joy. The group has spent many years refining their interpretation of traditional Jewish and Eastern European folk music, and they have always insisted on giving the music their personal touch. We can guarantee that the audience will dance as if there was no tomorrow.
