Masterclass on participatory performance with Matteo Lanfranchi who is the founder of Effetto Larsen and has developed the company’s participatory approach over the last 15 years.

The masterclass is targeted at professionals: theatre makers, performers, actors, independent artists etc.

The masterclass will explore:
What does participation mean?
What does it imply in terms of artistic approach – the relationship with the audience and the creative process?
Participation means for us to put the audience at the core of our work, giving participants an active role, as a part of the creative process itself. What experience are you offering to the audience when you involve them so actively?
What skills do you have to develop to deal with participation and the involvement of the audience?
Participants will be asked to present project ideas, and it will be discussed how to develop them. It is possible to join without presenting project ideas.

Effetto Larsen has been part of the European network In Situ since 2015 and tours extensively internationally.

About Effetto Larsen and Matteo Lanfranchi
Effetto Larsen was born in 2007 as a theatre company and since the very beginning they have been focusing on human relationships. Matteo Lanfranchi started his artistic and professional life as an actor on stage; after a number of years working with Italian and foreign directors, I decided to start my own company, Effetto Larsen, to develop a research project based on questioning its own standards.
